Flora recently spied this old (circa early 80s!) Wrinkles dog in the attic, and she has been carrying it around with her ever since. Apparently this is the girl version of Wrinkles (stripped of its clothing, of course), but her Uncle Andrew’s favorite “somebody to love” when he was little was a boy Wrinkles. Here Flora shares her extra “beeyah beeyah” with “Winkles” while dry-testing her winter sled in the garage.

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007Happy Thanksgiving 2007!
Thursday, November 22nd, 2007My second Thanksgiving was a five-day extravaganza full of Swans and a little turkey (I like the dark meat best!). Nana, Uncle Greg, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Chuck, Cousin Gregory and Jen, and Cousin Josh and Lauren all came to visit me. We ate and ate and ate, played games, watched football, and went candlepin bowling. Dad did most of the cooking and even made a second turkey for leftovers — Turkey Day is his favorite day! Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, too!

Sunday, November 18th, 200722 Months
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007With just two months away from turning two, Flora is really working up her verbal skills. She uses sentences of three to four words long and uses verb tenses and plurals. And her retention is amazing! Just the other day I told her her name was Flora Elsie Hergert. She repeated it. Then a couple days later I said “Flora Elsie” and paused, and she said “Hergert.” Well, she actually said “Huhguht.” She also has her father’s memory, and can recall events and people with 100% accuracy. It’s hilarious to hear her retell a story with all her babbling and hand gestures.
Toots! Toots!
Thursday, November 8th, 2007Tonight I went pee-pee on the potty for the very first time, for which afterwards I proclaimed, “Toots! Toots!” I then got to wipe with toilet paper, empty my bucket, flush the toilet, and clean the potty! Mom and Dad are hoping I’ll do this all more regularly, but I’m sure the novelty will wear off — diapers are just way more easier!
