Today we met Cousin Michael from Buffalo (he’s also Mom’s Godfather, but he doesn’t sleep with the fishes) and visited the New England Aquarium. We walked up and around a big ramp that wrapped a huge tank to see all kinds of fish, eels, sharks … even a scuba diver feeding a manta ray! But I liked the seals and penguins outside the best. Afterwards, we dined on lunch at Sel De La Terre. A bad picture day was had by all — not a decent shot to post!

Saturday, March 29th, 200829 Weeks (almost)
Thursday, March 27th, 2008According to the Web, a 29-week baby weighs about 2 pounds, 8 ounces and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. But at today’s ultrasound, the technician said this baby weighs 3 pounds, 4 ounces. Um, that’s almost a 1 pound difference — does it mean that this one is going to tip the scales at birth? Pray with me!
Chocolate Easter Bunny
Monday, March 24th, 2008Nothing says Easter like a solid chocolate Easter Bunny! I got to have mine for dessert, after I ate my Easter Dinner of baked macaroni and cheese, sauteed spinach, and french rolls.
Hoppy Easter Morning!
Sunday, March 23rd, 2008This morning I found SIX eggs full of Easter Yummies hidden in the living room, and then a BIG Easter Basket full of more surprises hidden in my little house. After sampling (OK, eating all) my treats, and watching my new Easter DVD, and playing with my new Easter Stickers, and reading my new Easter Book, and …. I put on a mod Easter Dress and posed for pictures with my new JellyCat Bunny on the rock in the front yard. Thanks Easter Bunny (and his helpers), and Happy Easter to you all!
Dying Easter Eggs
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008In preparation for Easter Sunday, we dyed hard-boiled eggs tonight. The kit came with a “magic” crayon (well, really, it was just a white crayon) whose markings only showed up after the egg was dyed, and we also created a tie-dyed effect using rubber bands. Flora’s favorite egg was the one with a bear drawing and her name scribbled on it. Here she is showing off one of her own creations. Luckily, most major spills and stains were averted.
Discovery Museum (and 26 Months Old)
Friday, March 14th, 2008Flora and I met up with friends, Jen and Drew Gibson, this morning at the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA. The two look-a-likes had much fun exploring the different themed rooms (train room, water table room, music room, diner room, ship room, and more!), but especially enjoyed eating BIG Sicilian-style pizza for lunch afterwards. Apologies for the less-than-great photos — these were taken with our super old Canon Digital Elph.
Great Grandma Brittingham
Tuesday, March 11th, 2008Flora’s great-grandmother, Bertha Brittingham, passed away peacefully this morning at the age of 86. Amy, Flora, and I were fortunate enough to visit with Bertha one last time over the holidays, when Flora and Bertha enjoyed reading books and playing puppets together on the bed, and Flora inspected all of Bertha’s bandages. We’ll certainly miss her.
Kidstop
Friday, March 7th, 2008This morning Mom took me to Kidstop in Salem, MA for a play date with some of my friends. It is an indoor play space with several climbing structures, slides, two ball crawls, and lots and lots of toys. Of course we had tons of fun. Then we were busy all weekend starting to get my new BIG girl room ready, complete with BIG girl bed. Oh, and I’ve started the Why? phase. Why? Because “My be two, dat why!”

Tuesday, March 4th, 200824 Weeks
Saturday, March 1st, 2008My OB this time around, Dr. Wu, is what I would call “conservative.” If there is a blood test to order up, a specialist to refer me to, or an ultrasound to send me off for … she will (thank God we have really good insurance). She’s already scheduled an anesthesiology consultation and “ordered up” an early epidural, and has me off to see an endocrinologist next week! So, I had the lucky opportunity to get a sneak peek of Number Two at 24 weeks during a recent ultrasound. Right now, this little one weighs about 1.25 pounds and measures almost a foot long — that’s about the size of an ear of corn. And incidentally, my uterus is about the size of a soccer ball, making for a very big belly! Active as ever, Number Two waived hello while tossing and turning around.
My First Dollhouse
Saturday, March 1st, 2008Flora got the Fisher Price My First Dollhouse for her birthday and it’s one of her favorite toys to play with these days. It came with a Mommy, a Daddy, a Baby, and some furniture … but she also got a couple of the booster packs with a Grandma, a stroller, and nursery furniture. By watching Flora play with it, you would think Marty and I are quite the disciplinaries — the Mommy and Daddy get lots of stern time-outs for “throwing food” or “hitting in face” … but I swear the kid rarely gets a time-out, let alone a stern one! Luckily (and also unlike Flora), the Mommy and Daddy quickly say “sorry,” and Flora excuses them from their punishment. Also of note … the Daddy seems to spend an inordinate amount of time on the potty, where the Grandma has also been known to sit and read, and the Mommy takes lots of baths with the bunny.
