Monday, April 5th, 2010Jessica Nyiredi Pictures
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010Our new friend, Jessica Nyiredi, a student at the New England School of Photography, came over on Friday and took some great shots of the kids. Charley wore the vintage sailor jacket from that lot I scored on ebay, and Flora wore everything from a skirt to a tutu to a dress-up dress. Here’s a few of my faves, and the rest can be seen at the link below. Thanks, Jessica!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010Pearly Whites
Thursday, February 25th, 2010Flora had her first visit to the dentist today — here she is showing off her pearly whites! Once the assistant walked her through all the dental tools and she got used to lying back in the chair, she let the assistant count her teeth (she has 20), polish them (mostly agreeable to this), floss, and apply a fluoride treatment. When the man with the white coat (the dentist) showed up, I had to sit in the chair with Flora, but once I did, she also let him take a look. The dentist predicts Flora will need to see an orthodontist early due to over-crowding and her bite. For being a good customer, she got a tooth award for joining the no cavity club, lots of stickers, a new pink toothbrush, and a goody bag to boot.

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009Greta and Finn
Sunday, November 8th, 2009Well, we’re 99.9% sure we’re naming the kitten siblings Greta (from German, meaning pearl) and Finn (from Irish, meaning fair). We brought them home today and they are doing well. The two napped all day in a basket under the bed (together, of course), came out to eat dinner, and then played like no tomorrow. We’re showing the kids how to be quiet and gentle (two words not often used to describe Flora and Charley) around the kittens. Quiet is especially hard for Charley since he gets SO excited when he sees the kittens and their toys. Greta is a little more shy than Finn, but he politely let Greta eat first before taking his turn. Finn loves to play with chase toys and Greta really likes balls. We’re letting the tiny ones adjust in our room for a bit before letting them explore the entire house. Our neighbors, Kevin, Ronda, and Victoria, adopted their sister, Joey. She was the tiniest one of the five and has white and sand coloring. Their Mom, Angel, is still waiting for a home. She’s very sweet and loving!

Sunday, October 25th, 2009Boo!
Friday, October 9th, 2009We made Halloween masks from paper plates, paint, construction paper, add-ons, twine, and glue this afternoon — Flora made a scarecrow and Charley made a jack-o-lantern. Boo!

Donuts With A Difference
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009Two satisfied customers, not to mention Mom and Dad. And to top off our breakfast of donuts in Medford, we had pizza at Santarpio’s in East Boston for dinner. Yum and yum!
