Pump It up!

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

Flora’s final birthday celebration was a “Pumpjama” party at Pump It Up. The kids wore cute jammies and crazy hairstyles and cooky socks, jumped and bounced ’til their hearts content, and chowed down on pizza and owl-shaped birthday cake.

The Nutcracker

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Christine and I treated the girls to their first performance of the Nutcracker, a matinee performance by the Northeast Youth Ballet featuring several friends as the mice, followed by a yummy dinner at the bistro in town. The sets and costumes were pure candy for the eyes!

Home for the Holidays 2011

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

This year we hit up “Home for the Holidays” with friends Christine and Ruby on Friday night for the lighting of downtown and Santa’s arrival via fire truck followed by a yummy dinner at Spice…then Saturday met up with friends Kelly, Alice and Elsie for cookie decorating, gingerbread house making, meeting Santa at the train station, and a pizza lunch. On the way home we just made it to the petting zoo to feed the baby goats and pet the llamas.

English Play Date

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Flora’s friend Alice started Kindergarten last year, and we don’t get to see her at school anymore. So we made a play date for Sunday, and of course best friends Charley and Elsie had to join in the fun. They all played together fantastically — running though the sprinkler, fishing in the water table, painting, hoola hooping, blowing bubbles, and creative playing in the playroom!

Charley’s Third Birthday

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

Charley’s third birthday started off with a play date with best girlfriend Elsie, followed by making cupcakes for his class, enjoying one after dinner, and opening presents from the grandparents.

The Graduate

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

If you think I didn’t cry when Flora accepted her Preschool graduation diploma, you’re mistaken. She also received the award for “Preschool Activity Planner” and her favorite memory was, “Having all the Mystery Guests.” I swear I didn’t pay her to say that (I coordinate the program). Congratulations, Flora!

Flora and her BFF, Ruby, model their new pettiskirts in Ruby’s backyard and picture perfect bedroom. But what you don’t see is the two divas fighting over accessories and outfits!”

Seneca Turns Six

Saturday, February 5th, 2011

Seneca held her sixth birthday party at Plaster Fun Time, and each kid got to pick a piece of molded plaster to paint and take home. Flora chose a kitten, painted it “rainbow,” and of course when given the option of a glitter or no glitter finish, she chose glitter. The kitten is now proudly displayed on her dresser.

Pretty In Purple

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

It was inevitable that after attending TWO birthdays at Sugar Plum Parties Flora would want to have hers there. Being the kind of parents that give their kids every single thing they want yet wonder why they are so spoiled, we complied. She chose the Princess Tea theme, so the girls got to dress up, decorate a cookie, get a manicure and up-do, stuff an animal to take home, accessorize with jewelry and sunglasses, play a game of Disney Bingo, dance on stage with bubbles, and finish off with cake, “tea,” and sweets. All in two hours. The party was everything a little girl could ever want from a party (pink, purple, pretty, princess, and presents!) — I apologize in advance to the Moms whose daughters in attendance will be insisting on having their next birthdays at Sugar Plum (oh, and start saving!)

Raessler’s Fifth Birthday

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Friend Raessler had a Wizard of Oz themed dance birthday party where everyone came dressed as a favorite character from the movie — there were no less than TEN Dorothies! The kids had fun “following the yellow brick road,” playing “musical hoola hoops,” crafting a character with toilet paper tubes, and of course eating cake and ice cream!

Halloween Night

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Geesh, when did Halloween become a SEASON? Even I’m sick of seeing the kids in their costumes. But we persevered one more time for Halloween Night trick or treating with pals Ruby, Alice and Elsie. With the amount of treats they scored, they should be all set until next Halloween!

Drumlin Farm

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

We met up with friends Boulton and William at Drumlin Farm — a great place to walk around; learn about all kinds of animals (birds, sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, pigs, and more); explore flower and herb gardens, fields, and greenhouses; take a hay ride; and get a snack of hot cider and donuts! This trip we learned that a pigs pee is like a blasting garden hose and that the other pigs like to drink from it like a water fountain — that was one lesson we could have lived without!

Truck Day

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

Truck Day on Burlington Commons. Big trucks, little trucks, old trucks, new trucks … every kind of trucks! And lots of horn honking. While we were exploring the Fire Trucks, a call came in, so we got to see the firemen and fire trucks in action.
